Metaphors

Time erratically goes it’s way
Towards a goal no one of us can envision
Each of us following in time’s footsteps
Can use time’s errant nature
For our own enjoyment.
We can go backwards in time when we
Remember a delightful period that time bestows
On us to relive in our mind,
But time will, sometimes, push us back to remember
A horrid experience in reminding us that we really do
not have the absolute control.
However, time can be gracious and
Allow us to ease the terrible pains and fears of the past.
Time can stop still when the sun peeks over the horizon
bringing up a beautiful day and colors the eastern sky
And, again, when sun reluctantly drops over the mountains and
colors the whole western wall.
And all one can do is stare and say, “Oh my! How beautiful!”
